Expense Report Maker ("we", "our", or "us") is an iOS app for capturing receipts, tracking expenses, organizing by project or category, and exporting clean PDF or CSV reports for travel, tax, and reimbursement. We designed the app to keep expense management simple and as private as practical.
1Expense Data You Enter
When you use Expense Report Maker, the app stores expense descriptions, amounts, dates, categories, project names, notes, and optional receipt images that you enter or capture. This data is used solely to build your expense reports and is not shared with us or any third party.
2Receipt Images
If you use the camera or photo library to attach receipt images to an expense, those images are stored locally on your device within the app's data. OCR scanning to extract receipt totals is performed on-device. Receipt images are included in exported reports only when you choose to include them.
3Local Storage
All expense records, project data, report configurations, and receipt images are primarily stored on your device. If you remove the app, this locally stored data may be deleted unless it is included in device backups managed by Apple.
4Camera and Photo Library Permission
Expense Report Maker may request access to your Camera or Photo Library only so you can attach receipt images to expense entries. You can deny or revoke these permissions at any time in iOS Settings. Receipt attachment features may be unavailable without these permissions, but the app's core expense tracking and reporting functions remain available.
We do not operate a separate customer account system for Expense Report Maker.
5Exporting and Sharing Reports
When you export an expense report as PDF or CSV, the selected expense data is written into the file you explicitly generate. If you share or save that file through the iOS share sheet, the destination app, storage provider, or recipient may process it according to its own policies. We have no visibility into or control over data once it leaves your device via the share sheet.
6What We Do Not Sell
We do not sell your personal information. Expense Report Maker is not designed around advertising profiles, third-party data brokerage, or public data directories.
7Permissions
The app only uses the system capabilities needed to record expenses, capture receipt images, generate report files, and share output after you choose to do so.
- Camera: used to capture receipt photos when you choose to attach a receipt image.
- Photo Library: used to select existing receipt images when you choose to attach one.
- On-device storage: used to save expense records, receipt images, and app preferences.
- Share sheet: used only when you choose to send, save, or open an exported report file.
- Optional iCloud support: controlled through your Apple account and device settings.
8Data Retention and Deletion
You can delete individual expenses, projects, receipt images, and exported files from within the app. You may also remove the app from your device to delete all locally stored app data, subject to any Apple-managed backups or sync settings you have enabled.
9Children's Privacy
Expense Report Maker is a productivity utility and is not designed to collect personal information directly from children. We do not knowingly require account registration, community posting, or public profile creation.
10Policy Updates
If the app's data handling changes, we will update this page and revise the effective date above. Material changes will be reflected in a future version of this policy.
