Privacy Policy

This policy explains how CutList handles cut lists, material details, and optimized sheet layouts on iPhone.

Effective Date: May 11, 2026 | Last Updated: May 11, 2026

CutList ("we", "our", or "us") is an iOS app for creating cut lists and turning them into optimized sheet layouts. We designed the app to work fully offline so project information can stay on your device.

1Information You Enter

When you use CutList, you may enter project names, part dimensions, quantities, material names, sheet sizes, kerf settings, grain direction preferences, notes, and layout choices. This information is used only to generate and manage cut lists and sheet layouts inside the app.

Core principle CutList processes cut lists and layout optimization on your device. We do not run a remote optimization service for your project data.

2Local Storage

Your saved projects, cut lists, sheet definitions, material settings, and generated layouts are stored locally on your device. If you remove the app, this locally stored data may be deleted unless it is included in device backups managed by Apple.

3Offline Operation

CutList is designed to work fully offline. The core workflow for entering parts, optimizing sheet layouts, previewing results, and saving projects does not require an internet connection.

We do not operate a separate customer account system, cloud sync service, or remote project storage service for CutList.

4Exporting and Sharing

When you choose to export, print, or share a cut list or sheet layout, the content you selected is passed to the iOS sharing, printing, or export option you explicitly invoke. The destination printer, app, or share target you choose may process that information according to its own policies.

5What We Do Not Sell

We do not sell your personal information. CutList is not designed around advertising profiles, third-party data brokerage, analytics tracking, or social networking features.

6Permissions

The app only uses the system capabilities needed to save projects, preview layouts, and use export or sharing options you choose. Depending on your iOS configuration and the features you use, Apple may provide access to local storage, printing frameworks, or system share-sheet services.

  • On-device storage: used to save projects, cut lists, sheet data, and layout preferences.
  • Export / print / share sheet: used only when you choose to export, print, or share output.
  • Apple-managed backups: controlled through your Apple account and device settings.

7Data Retention and Deletion

You can delete saved projects, cut lists, and layout data from within the app. You may also remove the app from your device to delete locally stored data, subject to any Apple-managed backups you have enabled.

8Children's Privacy

CutList is a utility app and is not designed to collect personal information directly from children. We do not knowingly require account registration, community posting, or public profile creation.

9Policy Updates

If the app's data handling changes, we will update this page and revise the effective date above. Material changes will be reflected in a future version of this policy.
