Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Cadenza handles practice tools, tuner permissions, setlists, and session history on iPhone.

Effective Date: June 7, 2026 | Last Updated: June 7, 2026

Cadenza ("we", "our", or "us") is an iOS app for musicians that provides a metronome, chromatic tuner, setlist management, and practice session tracking. We design the app around local practice workflows and user-controlled data.

1Information You Enter

When you use Cadenza, you may enter or generate practice-related information such as setlist names, song titles, notes, tempo settings, tuner preferences, drone pitch choices, practice sessions, and app settings. This information is used to provide the practice tools and history features inside the app.

Core principle Cadenza is built for focused music practice. Practice settings, setlists, and session history are used to run the app features you choose.

2Local Storage

Your saved setlists, tempo settings, tuner preferences, practice sessions, and app configuration may be stored locally on your device. If you remove the app, locally stored data may be deleted unless it is included in Apple-managed device backups that you have enabled.

3Microphone and Tuner Use

The chromatic tuner may request access to your device microphone so the app can detect pitch. Audio input is used for on-device pitch detection while you are using tuner features. We do not use microphone access to record, store, or transmit your audio to our servers.

4Subscriptions and Purchases

Cadenza Pro subscriptions and purchase restoration are handled through Apple's in-app purchase system. Apple may process payment, subscription status, trial eligibility, renewal, cancellation, and receipt information under Apple's own terms and privacy policy. We do not receive your full payment card details.

5Offline Operation

The core practice workflow for metronome use, tuning, setlist access, and session tracking is designed to work from the app interface on iPhone. Some subscription validation, purchase restoration, App Store services, or Apple-managed backup behavior may require Apple services or network availability.

6What We Do Not Sell

We do not sell your personal information. Cadenza is not designed around advertising profiles, third-party data brokerage, social feeds, public profiles, or user-generated community content.

7Permissions

The app only uses system capabilities needed for the features you choose. Depending on your device settings and app usage, Apple may prompt for or manage the following:

  • Microphone: used for tuner pitch detection while tuner features are active.
  • Local storage: used to save setlists, practice sessions, tempo settings, tuner preferences, and app configuration.
  • Apple in-app purchases: used for Cadenza Pro subscriptions, free trials, renewal status, cancellation, and purchase restoration.
  • Apple-managed backups: controlled through your Apple account and device settings.

8Data Retention and Deletion

You can remove saved practice information by deleting relevant data inside the app when those controls are available. You may also remove the app from your device to delete locally stored app data, subject to any Apple-managed backups or subscription records controlled by Apple.

9Children's Privacy

Cadenza is a music practice utility and is not designed to collect personal information directly from children. We do not knowingly require account registration, public profile creation, or community posting.

10Policy Updates

If the app's data handling changes, we will update this page and revise the effective date above. Material changes will be reflected in a future version of this policy.
